She has led several youth mission trips across the nation. Through her mission experiences and Christian-themed coursework during her college days; she came to understand forgiveness and how to heal from a broken and shameful past. Laura’s husband Shawn is deeply rooted in the Memoir and shares his take on Laura’s journey to redemption in the Epilogue of the book. Shawn and Laura have been married since 1989 and have two adult children.
