T. Jackson King (Tom) is an Amazon bestselling science fiction author whose popular series include the Vigilante, Assassin, Escape, Aliens, Brother, and Retread Shop series. Tom began writing SF novels at age 38, when he discovered he had read all the Human-Alien first contact or encounter novels in his local library. So he decided to write his own, thanks to an overactive, very visual imagination. Those early years produced FIRST CONTACT and RETREAD SHOP. When the New York City publishing houses ignored his later novels because they had no Hollywood tie-in, he went to several small presses, then began self-publishing as an Indy author in 2011. Several of his novels have hit Amazon super-bestseller status in Space Opera. They were STELLAR ASSASSIN, EARTH VS. ALIENS and most recently BATTLESTAR, the first novel in his StarFight series. He loves that readers in Britain, Canada and Australia are some of his most loyal readers! Before becoming a bestselling author, Tom worked as a federal archaeologist and newspaper journalist. Those jobs paid the bills for his three kids and wife Leslee. However, college years spent in Paris and in Tokyo led Tom into antiwar activism, hanging out with some Japanese hippies and learning how often governments lie to their citizens. The latter lesson led him and a college buddy to publish the Shinjuku Sutra English language underground tabloid in Japan in 1967. That was followed by helping shut down the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1968 and a bus trip to Washington D.C. for the Second March on Washington where thousands demanded an end to the Vietnam War. Temporary sanity returned when Tom worked in a radiocarbon lab at UC Riverside and earned an MA degree in Archaeology from UCLA. His interests in ancient history, ancient cultures and journalism got him several government agency jobs that led him to roam the raw landscape of the Western United States. A funny thing happened on the way to normality. When RETREAD SHOP was published by Warner Books in 1988, he discovered he could not stop writing. It was off to the writing races and Tom's many voyages of imaginative discovery have led to 23 published novels, a book of poetry, and a conviction that when Humans reach the stars, we will find them crowded with space-going Aliens.
